The short answer is YES! Pumping bras are FSA and HSA eligible for breastfeeding moms. The insurance company will ask for an itemized receipt for your purchase, but once submitted, you can be reimbursed for the purchase. The catch - the title of the pumping bra you purchase needs to say "pumping bra" on the receipt. So if it just shows the brand style name or says bra/cami without the word pumping, make sure to reach out for a receipt that says "pumping bra" instead.
It is recommended to have a minimum of 2-3 pumping bras as a breastfeeding mom. One to wear, one to wash, and one as a spare. If you are pumping all day long or exclusive pumping, we recommend more than 3+ so you don't have to be washing all the time. Our favorite are the Davin & Adley Pumping Cami 3 pack Bundles. You can grab your favorite colors at an amazing deal and have plenty of extra pumping bras on hand! One for every day of the week!
Nursing Bras and bras that are not meant for combo nursing and pumping are not FSA and HSA eligible. Only bras specific to pumping breastmilk are considered a medical item. It is a much better investment to buy combo nursing and pumping bras so you can submit them for FSA Eligibility. Not all pumping bra websites are set up to accept FSA cards, so make sure you use a regular credit card for the initial transaction, and submit receipt for reimbursement after. *Remember that once you receive the FSA reimbursement, those items are no longer returnable to the store.
Not all nursing bras are meant for pumping. Most nursing bras are specific to nursing at the breast only. It is rare to find combo nursing and pumping bras, but those are the best options for moms who combo feed and switch back and forth between nursing and pumping. If you are looking for the best 3 in 1 pumping bra that works for nursing, pumping with flanges and pumping with wearable breast pumps, the holy grail of pumping bras is the Amelia Pumping and Nursing Crop Cami.
The same as pumping bras, nursing pads are eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement! Nursing pads are classified as an essential medical item so both disposable and reusable nursing pads will qualify. You will need to change nursing pads often so disposable can get expensive. It's best to invest in quality nursing pads that are washable and reusable and will last you not only this breastfeeding journey but future ones as well. My top recommendation are the reusable Paisley Nursing Bra Liners that are hypoallergenic and quick drying and already approved for FSA/HSA reimbursement!
If you are wondering if pumping bras are worth it, I can tell you after breastfeeding 3 children over 8 years combined, you need to invest in your breastfeeding success and buy yourself a pumping bra. Yes, you can pump without a pumping bra and hold your breast pump flanges for 30 minutes at a time, multiple times a day. That probably sounds terrible to you as a new or expecting mom, and I can confirm that it is! You will want to multi task while pumping and if nothing else, spend time playing with your little one.
You can make a pumping bra by cutting holes in sports bras or tube tops, but that also will leave you frustrated with them ripping on you and heavy pumping bottles not supported. And of course, you can't walk around with holes cut into your bra all day. You should continue to wear a bra after pumping for support, so you will need to change in and out of a different bra just for pumping. Now you see why pumping bras are necessary!
It can be difficult to find the right size pumping and nursing bra, especially if you are still expecting. To find which pumping bra is the best fit for you, check out this interactive pumping and nursing bra size guide. If you are looking for a pumping bra for busty sizes or size inclusive pumping and nursing bras in plus sizes 1x, 2x, 3x, grab a tape measure and you can find everything you are looking for on this nursing and pumping bra size guide!
If you have purchased all the pumping bras you need, it's time for a breast pump bag! We highly recommend a large backpack style pumping bag for bigger breast pumps like Spectra, but also a portable breast pump bag for your cordless breast pumps like Pumpables and Baby Buddha. My top recommendation are the Vegan Leather Breast Pump Bags by Mimiandpal. Save 10% off your purchase with code: DAVINANDADLEY
Make sure you use those dollars before the end of the year or you will lose them!

]]>Pumpables portable breast pumps are really hot on the market right now. However, their unique flanges can make it difficult to find a pumping bra that you can wear comfortably. If you are using a Pumpable’s breast pump and flanges, you need to know about the best pumping bras to use with it!
]]>
I have used Pumpables Genie Advanced breast pump for over 2 years, and it is such a great option for pumping moms! It’s a portable option that is super easy to take on the go and has a clip or lanyard to make it as hands-free as possible. Additionally, they make a hospital-grade pump, the Super Genie, that is a bit larger but still a great option for pumping moms!
Pumpables is a fairly universal pump that makes it easy to hack with other shield kits and bottles if you have ones from previous pumps you prefer. Pro tip: The Spectra wide mouth bottles or Ceres Chill stainless steel bottles, fit perfectly on the Pumpable shields too!! The Pumpables shields come with attachments to fit narrow neck bottles or the wide mouth.
Something that stands out about this pump is the larger flanges. The size of the liquid shield kit flanges can make it difficult to easily fit into a typical pumping bra. Most pumping bras have a hole to insert your flanges and it is usually too small to work comfortably and easily with Pumpables liquid shield kit. You can see their pump and flanges in my Instagram here!
Here are my top three choices for a pumping bra to use with the Pumpables breast pump:
The Amelia Pumping and Nursing Crop Cami is my #1 choice if you have a Pumpables pump. One of the greatest features of this bra are the overlapping slits to hold your pumping flanges. Unlike typical pumping bras, the unique slits make it much easier to fit wider flanges. But even though there is a wider slit, this bra still allows you to get a secure hold on the flange, hands-free!
On top of that, the Amelia is perfect for moms who are combo-feeding. This bra doubles as a nursing cami as well so you can easily switch between pumping and nursing throughout the day!
Are you a busty mom? Then the busty Amelia tank could be the perfect fit! It has all of the same amazing features of the Amelia cami, but it comes in busty sizes for plus-size moms!
You can see how easy and hands-free this bra is with Pumpables breast pump in this reel!
The Riley Pumping Bra is also a fabulous option to use with the Pumpables Genie Advanced breast pump. This is a great, full-coverage option for moms who want a lacey stylish pumping bra option while still being fully covered during their pumping session! Watch this demo!
Once again, this is another great multi-use option also compatible for maternity, nursing, and pumping with both flanges and wearable breast pumps. What makes this bra stand out when using the Pumpables pump is that it can secure the flange from the top and bottom with it's overlapped slit design. This all-around hold makes it much easier to insert the flange and pump hands-free! Check out my Instagram reel here!
The Ella is a multi-functional maternity, nursing, and pumping bra… with a special twist!
This bra fully clips down which is unique to the Davin and Adley brand. The magnetic closures make securing the bra super easy, especially one-handed! Because it fully clips down, you have plenty of space to get your flanges in the right position. This reel shows how to use the Ella with your pumpables breast pump!
Overall, the style of bra you choose for the Pumpables pump is up to you… But you can’t go wrong with one of these three pumping bras! Each of these bras has unique features that make pumping so much easier for moms.

Using the Spectra pump but can’t quite find the perfect-fitting bra to go with it? As you probably know by now, finding a pumping bra that is comfortable and functional is key to your breastfeeding experience! Read on to find out what our choice is for the best pumping bra for spectra!
]]>One thing that you have to figure out when looking for the best pumping bra for Spectra is how to manage what makes it different from other pumps.
For example, The Spectra Pump has a one-piece flange, making it unique from other pumping setups. Because of this, you need a bra with a wide enough opening to place the entire flange in without it being too much of a hassle!
Luckily, we have two great breastfeeding bra options that allow you to do exactly that!
Our first choice for the best pumping bra for Spectra is the Amelia! There are 3 great options for this bra: the classic Amelia Pumping and Nursing Crop Cami, the Amelia Compression Tank and the Ribbed Amelia Crop Cami
All 3 styles include a functional, overlapped slit that allows you to easily slide the flange in. Then, for some added compression, you can easily pull the top layer down to secure everything into place! This ensures that your flanges stay in place throughout the entire pumping session and you don’t have to worry about anything slipping or having to hold the flanges while you pump!
So what makes these three styles different? Although the basic functionality is the same, there are some important differences between the best pumping bra for spectra! The Pumping and Nursing Crop Cami comes in 10 unique colors and can be found in sizes small to 3X. It is a pumping crop top length pumping bra compared to the full length pumping tank top.
The Rib Pumping Crop Top is similar to the original Amelia Cami, but it has rib fabric all around front and back and is more athletic styling with racerback straps. The Rib Amelia Cami is the perfect Pumping Swimsuit top as well for travel and summertime at the beach!
The Amelia Compression Tank is a full-length pumping tank top that provides compression through your entire midsection! It is a great option for busty moms as well, as you can find this pumping bra in sizes Small Busty through 2X Busty! This means that the bust size is one size fuller compared to the standard sizes in the Amelia Cami.
Our second choice for the best pumping bra for Spectra is the Riley Pumping Bralette! This is a highly-supportive lace pumping bra with closure on the back, that also provides some extra coverage with its V shape mesh front design.
While you can also use this bra as a nursing bra with the one handed strap sliders, it is a great option for exclusive pumpers using the Spectra because it has enough room to place the one-piece flange or wearable breast pump and is supportive enough to hold them in place perfectly throughout your whole pumping session! Not to mention, its gorgeous lace design allows you to comfortably pump in public without feeling exposed.
Silicone flanges and collection cups can really add to your breastfeeding experience! Exclusive Pumping explains that the three biggest complaints when it comes to breast pump flanges are their size, shape, and material. The hard plastic not only makes pumping uncomfortable, but it can also make it harder to get the perfect fit!
On top of that, silicone flanges and cups can prevent your nipples from swelling while pumping. It is more gentle with the breast tissue making it a great choice for women with elastic tissue and sensitive breasts.
Obviously, it’s always a good idea to talk with a lactation consultant or IBCLC if you are struggling with pumping or breastfeeding… But if you’re finding that pumping is painful, using silicone flanges or cups while pumping may be what you need!
I’ve tried a lot of different pumping brands and accessories, and these are by far my favorites! Find out what makes them stand out and why I use these brands over others.
These are my number one choice for a regular silicone flange. Not only are they extremely comfortable, but a lot of moms have said that they see an increase in their supply! They offer a great range of flange sizes (another perk for silicone flanges). These flanges aim to mimic a baby nursing, which overall can make your pumping experience much better!
These flanges have a great range of uses because you can purchase a “set” with two different sizes as well as pump adapters. They are a great versatile choice that works with 8 different pumps. Another pro for these flanges is that they are slanted to provide less duct constriction (and make pumping more comfortable!).
The Pumpables liquid shield kit gives you everything you need to pump with ease… but the best part is the inserts! These inserts may need to be replaced more frequently, but I love the design and how the silicone can also massage and promote breast stimulation to increase milk flow.
Whenever I use a mobile pump, my go-to is the Legendairy Milk Collection Cups with a mobile breast pump like Pumpables! These cups come with 24mm and 28mm breast shields, but you can also buy the silicone inserts if you need a different size. They also come with everything you need to collect milk on the go… and the silicone breast shields allow you to do so with ease!
I’m also a big fan of silicone collection cups with their own motor attached. The two most popular ones are from Mom cozy and Legendairy Milk. They are almost identical so you can’t go wrong with either option! They are interchangeable with each other but not collection cups by themselves.
Last but certainly not least on this list of silicone flanges and cups are these breast pump cushions. These are a great way to get the comfort of a silicone flange with your normal plastic flanges! Because these are inserts, you may need to increase your plastic flange size to account for the insert. Additionally, you will want to replace these parts frequently… Luckily, they have a great subscription option to save a little bit of money!
Once you have all of the accessories to make your pumping experience more comfortable, make sure you grab a bra that can make it even better! The Amelia Cami is a great option for pumping moms because it works with normal (or silicone) flanges and wearable pumps. And if you use a form of combination feeding, you don’t have to worry about changing bras to nurse… the Cami can do that, too!

The thing that the Legendairy Milk Imani and Momcozy M5 breast pumps have in common is their size… With detachable motors on top, you definitely need a bra that can provide additional support! If you are looking for the best pumping bra to go with one of these two pumps, check out our recommendations below!
]]>The Riley lace pumping bralette is the top choice for the best pumping bra with these two pumps for a few reasons.
First of all, it features a bralette style length, longer than standard bras, allowing you to have more coverage to hold a larger breast pump. On top of that, the adjustable straps provide much-needed support!
In addition, both the Legendairy Milk Imani and Momcozy M5 breast pumps must be positioned firmly against your chest. That’s where the Riley comes in handy! This bra was made for collection cups, wearable pumps and flanges, meaning that it provides the necessary support to keep your pump in the position that it needs to be. It feels like the perfect everyday bralette, with the right adjustments for pumping! Check it out in action here!
While the classic black color is a great option for every mom, this is the new Cream color that just launched! Shop the black cross back version here!
The Amelia pumping and nursing cami is the bra that all breastfeeding moms should have because it can work for just about anything! However, it also makes our list of the best pumping bra choices because of how supportive it is with these two pumps.
This bra has an inside layer that keeps breast pumps like the Imani I2 from slipping down. On top of that, you can pull down the top compression layer to add a second layer of support for a secure hold! Much needed for larger wearable pumps like the Imani I2 and Mom Cozy M5! Check out the Amelia out in action to see how it works together!
The Amelia comes in ten different colors, including the limited edition Sunflower Yellow!
The next best pumping bra on our list is the Sophie. This is the newest bra from Davin and Adley, and it was created with wearable breast pumps in mind. Specifically engineered with triangular pockets, this bra keeps your pump in place without slipping!
In addition to the structure of the bra itself, another reason this is one of the best pumping bra options is because it has a magnetic clip-down strap. This makes it easy to insert and position the pump. Then, you can clip it back up for an extra layer of support! You can see just how well this bra works with the Legendairy Milk Imani pump in this reel.
Having a high-quality bra to go with your pump can make all the difference in your pumping experience. Especially when it comes to the Imani and Momcozy pumps, you’ll want a bra that can keep everything secure so you don’t have to worry about your pump moving while you’re getting things done. If you’re a new mom or mom-to-be, you already have tons to think about. I know when I started breastfeeding, I was so overwhelmed and I welcomed any tips and advice—and that is my goal today. There are so many options out there to help you with pumping milk collection during this postpartum period, so let’s break down some of these options so you can make the best decision for you and your baby!
When it comes to their pumping milk collection, some moms opt to go with traditional flanges. These are the typical pieces that come with a normal pump and generally require you to be less covered up and mobile while pumping. However, that doesn't mean that they aren't a great option for breastfeeding mamas (or can't be hands-free with a quality pumping bra!). There are so many pros to this breastfeeding milk collector option. For example, there are tons of different flange styles and sizes to choose from! It is much easier to find a flange for pumping milk collection that fits your individual needs. On top of that, some moms find that they produce more milk when using the flanges vs collection cups. Plus, since they generally already come with your pump, they are also a cheaper option compared to others.
As for cons, using traditional flanges means you won't have the flexibility to pump on the go. Flanges are attached to bottles that just won't fit inside a pumping bra. This means that you may want to find a more private place to pump. While this is much-needed quiet time for some moms, other moms may feel like they always have to hide while pumping.
If you’re a multitasking mama (aren’t we all?) then you may want to consider using a breast milk collector that is hands-free! You may have heard of the Legendairy Milk collection cups, Spectra Caracups, or the Freemie collection cups… in fact, our initial design of pumping bras was made using the Freemie (but don't worry, our bras work with any standard collection cups). This pumping milk collection option makes doing everyday tasks easy because you can simply enclose the cups in your pumping bra while you are making dinner, driving, or at work! It’s also great if you have a curious baby who would grab onto your pump parts during a session or if you need to pump in public frequently.
However, there are some cons to this breastfeeding milk collector. Unlike a mobile pump, you will still have to connect the collection cups to a normal pump. Some moms have also seen a small drop in their supply. They also tend to be a pricer option when it comes to pumping milk collection.
If you like the idea of collection cups but don't want to attach a separate pump, mobile pumps like the Willow, Elvie, or Momcozy may be just what you're looking for! This hands-free milk collector is a pump and collection cup all in one, and the whole unit can fit right inside your pumping bra! Any of our bra options will work for whichever pumping milk collection option you choose!
When it comes to my personal choice between flanges, collection cups and mobile breastpumps, I select my Motif Breast Pump with Lacteck silicone flanges as my primary breast pump, when I don’t mind being plugged into the wall. My secondary portable option is the Legendairy Milk collection cups with the Pumpables Genie Advanced rechargable Breast Pump. For my most discreet option when I want to sneak in a pump session in public would be the Elvie mobile breast Pump.
No matter your choice, you can definitely find a pumping option perfect for you! And once you decide on how you will pump, let Davin & Adley help make your pumping experience a comfortable one.
My Riley Maternity, Nursing, & Pumping Bralette was designed to fit collection cups, traditional flanges, and even mobile pumps so you can make the best decision for yourself and not have to miss out on a quality nursing bra!

]]>Having a comfortable and quality bra as a breastfeeding mom is a must… Especially if you are exclusively pumping! You need a bra that you know will keep everything secure and allow you to go about your day-to-day life as a busy mom. On top of that, you need a bra that will work with whichever pump you choose! Here are our top two bras that not only meet all of these needs but go above and beyond.
]]>The Amelia Pumping and Nursing Cami is the most versatile breastfeeding bra you will find on the market. Although it can definitely be used for nursing mamas, this bra was specially designed as a hands free pumping bra for exclusive pumping!
There are a few aspects of this pumping bra that really make it stand out:
First of all, it’s designed to keep your flanges super secure. The bra has a second layer that you can pull down to “lock” everything into place. This is important for a hands free pumping bra because you need to feel confident that your flanges won’t slip or move out of place while pumping. That secure hold is needed to ensure your pumping experience is seamless!
Additionally, because it’s designed for exclusive pumpers, there are no nursing clips to deal with! While the bra is nursing-friendly (you can easily pull down the bra to nurse), the fact that it is geared towards exclusive pumpers makes annoying nursing clips unnecessary!
So, instead of nursing clips, this hands free pumping bra has an easy, one-handed slider so you can tighten or loosen the bra to fit your needs and keep flanges or collection cups in place! Our second favorite hands free pumping bra is the Amelia Tank. This unique bra includes all of the same functions as the Amelia Cami, except it is a full-length compression tank! This bra was designed specifically with busty mamas in mind, but you can definitely still size down if needed!
On top of that, one of the best parts about the Amelia Tank is that it can easily be layered, tucked into jeans, or simply worn around as a tank. It provides additional coverage and compression to give you additional support through your midsection.
Basically, it’s everything breastfeeding moms love about the Amelia hands free pumping bra, but in a new design!
If you are more of a traditional bra girl and looking for an exclusive pumping hands free bra, the Riley Pumping bra might be just what you are looking for! The Riley is fully lace front and back with a hidden flange slit right at the center of the cup. No fussy nursing clips to deal with, just our signature one handed strap sliders for adjusting! Keep the Riley on all day with no need to change in and out of a different bra for pumping. Beautiful enough to wear for date night, but the comfort you need for lounge! A must have for any pumping mom!
Overall, it comes down to a personal preference between the Amelia Cami or Tank… and the Riley Pumping Bra. And you can’t go wrong with either of these 3!
In fact, all 3 bras/camis are compatible with every single pump on the market! Check out this reel to see how the Riley works!
No matter which style you choose, both Amelia options or the Riley are perfect for the exclusively-pumping mom. You deserve to have a bra that is not only comfortable but makes pumping so much easier!
Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog for more breastfeeding tips and to learn about our line of pumping and nursing bras!Attention Pregnant moms! Your baby is almost here! In addition to all of the excitement and nesting going on, you’ll also want to start thinking about making a hospital bag list of everything you will need postpartum. There are some things you definitely need to bring, and a few that you can leave behind.
]]>
Having something comfortable to wear is a necessity during your time at the hospital. I found one like this one at Target, but really, anything that is comfortable and nursing-friendly is a great option.
It’s already stressful enough figuring out how to nurse or pump with a newborn. Having a nursing bra that can fit flanges, collection cups, and be easy to nurse in is essential during this time. That’s why the Amelia Pumping & Nursing Crop Cami is a great addition to your hospital bag list. Not only is it practical, but it is also soft, comfortable, and doesn’t rub or irritate your sore nipples. Remember that Pumping Bras are FSA/HSA Eligible with your insurance! You can submit a receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement!
I absolutely love my Boppy Pillow and found it to be a huge help while nursing. It can be awkward and uncomfortable to nurse a new baby in the hospital, but this pillow helped me position my baby with ease and make the whole experience easier.
Trust me, you will want to have a pair of flip-flops handy to walk around the hospital. Flip flops are easy to throw on when you need to walk to the bathroom and are perfect for moms who have swollen feet postpartum.
It’s natural for new moms to be leaking and have super sensitive breasts right after their baby is born. Try a high-quality nursing pad that is reusable, quick-drying, and stays in place. You can rest easy knowing that you won’t have to go digging for a loose pad or have milk leaking through your shirt because a disposable paper pad slipped!
One thing that many new moms don’t realize is that there aren’t toiletries in the hospital for you to use when you are ready to shower… and even if your hospital does have them, they aren’t the best quality. Make sure to add your own essential items like soaps and lotions to your hospital bag list so that you can feel nice and clean during your hospital stay!
Last but certainly not least, you'll want comfortable postpartum underwear to make your stay much more enjoyable! Although the hospital will give you mesh underwear during your visit, Davin & Adley postpartum underwear can't be beat. The Mia Boxer Short was designed to keep bulky postpartum pads in place and is high-waisted to ensure you C-section mamas don't have any irritation on your scars! Best of all it's not see-through and provides coverage while visitors are in and out of your hospital room.
To each their own, but I personally didn’t feel the need to get all dressed up after my babies were born. I would much rather opt for comfy sweats and have one less thing to worry about. Save the cute outfits for your newborn!
Once again, you don’t need to get all ready during labor or after your baby is born. Take some stress off of yourself and just focus on spending time with your new baby!
Overall, focus on just bringing the necessities. The hospital will provide what you need for the baby, so make sure you have the things that will make you comfortable. Enjoy the time with your baby and don’t worry too much about what you look like in pictures… Trust me, everyone will be too busy looking at your new cute baby!

If you have been trying to find the best bras for pumping, you need to check out our Amelia pumping cami. In fact, it has been voted the best bra to wear with an Elvie Pump!
For starters, this bra is lightly lined and doesn’t have any padding, making it ideal for a wearable breast pump like the Elvie. Also, it has one-handed front strap adjusters so you can easily find the perfect fit.
To top it all off, this bra is cute and comfortable, no matter if you are still pregnant, nursing, or pumping! This is the ultimate option for postpartum comfort and will make pumping with an Elvie a breeze
Wearable breast pumps are great options for moms who need to pump on the go. Whether you are looking for a way to discreetly pump during work or need to pump while out and about, mobile breast pumps make this task easy!
The Elvie is silent, discreet, and easy to use. Although they are designed to be worn with a standard nursing bra, there are a few catches:
That’s where the Amelia pumping cami comes in… There’s a reason it was voted the best! This is the best pumping bra for Elvie because it is a fitted style to ensure a good suction and it is completely flexible! That means you don’t have to go out and buy additional parts to make a standard bra work. The front strap sliders lengthen the bra straps so you can add in the pump and adjust the tension for support. The fabric is a high performance jersey, allowing for the right amount of expansion to grow with your changing breast tissue and fit your Elvie pump. 100% Hands-free pumping bra and wire free too!
To top it all off, the Amelia cami is not just for pumping… it can be used for any type or combination of breastfeeding you choose. Whether you are using it with a mobile pump like the Elvie, a standard pump with flanges, milk catchers, or to nurse at the breast, this bra can do it all!
If the Amelia Cami isn’t your style, we also have many other options to choose from that are amazing pumping bras.
For example, the Riley Pumping and Nursing Bralette is a great alternative to the Amelia because it is compatible with both flanges and wearable breast pumps, while being a true bralette option with an adjustable band.
Or, if you are looking for a stylish nursing swimsuit option that is pumping-friendly, we also recommend our Amelia Pumping and Nursing Swim Cami! If you are really trying to maximize your wearable pump with any upcoming vacation, this is hands-down the best pumping and nursing swimsuit to wear. It makes it easy to pump and nurse while relaxing by the pool and on the go! This 3 in 1 swim cami includes all the features of our top-rated Amelia pumping cami but has the added benefit of being swim-friendly. Or, you can also use it as lounge or active wear! The perfect nursing and pumping sports bra.
When it comes to pumping, quality really is necessary. That’s why choosing the best pump and the best pumping bra are necessary! The right fit can make your life so much easier as you try to balance working, traveling, or taking care of your baby. By getting the best bra for Elvie pump, you can save yourself from all the hassle of lesser pumping bra options!
Go grab the Amelia pumping cami and see why it was voted the best bra for Elvie pump! And make sure you subscribe to the blog for more breastfeeding tips.
The number one recommendation is that you should always handle breastmilk and pumping supplies with clean hands, just as you would with food. This means washing well with soap and water or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol! The guidelines should be more strictly enforced in premature babies and those under the age of three months, because they are more vulnerable!
Breast pump parts should always be sanitized prior to first use, this can be done with a sterilizing machine or you can do it by yourself. You can sterilize by boiling your pump parts in a pot of water for at least five minutes, but be careful not to over boil them and melt the pieces. Be sure to always read your pump instructions for pieces that are not able to be boiled! (I have personally done this by mistake!) Some brands such as Medela sell microwave sterilizer pouches, or Dr. Brown’s microwaveable tray that is more reusable than a plastic bag option. These options are great, but my favorite is boiling in a large pot on the stove, free, simple and easy!
Before using your breast pump each time, it should be inspected to make sure it’s completely clean. Keeping your pump parts clean after the first use is less difficult of a task. You will need to wash by hand inside a separate wash basin dedicated to baby items. It’s extremely important not to lay pump parts and bottles inside of the kitchen sink because it’s not a sanitary space! You can look into using the dishwasher if recommended by your breast pump manufacturer, and some dishwashers may have a heated drying or sanitizing setting, which can be helpful. The CDC does recommend daily sanitizing for extra protection against germs, but as your baby grows you may personally decide this step can be skipped.
After pumping, you will need a clean place to store your milk. The CDC recommends sterile milk storage bags or clean food grade containers that are made of glass or plastic and have tight fitting lids. Try to avoid containers with the recycle symbol number seven as it may contain BPA. It’s recommended to only use containers that are specifically intended for storing breastmilk. Some of my personal favorites are glass mason jars and specialized breast milk chiller bottles from Ceres Chill. No matter what method you use to store breastmilk, remember to clearly label it with the date that it was pumped. Pro tip: Refrigerated breastmilk separates into 2 different layers, this is normal! You can swirl or shake breastmilk to reincorporate the fat that has separated, and no, shaking breastmilk does not damage it!
Freshly expressed breastmilk can be stored at room, temperature 77° or colder for up to four hours. In the refrigerator for up to four days, and in the freezer six months is optimal and 12 months is acceptable in a deep freezer.
Avoid storing breastmilk in the door of the refrigerator or freezer as this is where the temperature fluctuates the most!
According to the CDC, “various factors affect how long human milk can be stored safely. Such factors include milk, volume, room temperature, when milk is expressed, temperature, fluctuations in the refrigerator and freezer, and cleanliness of the environment.”
Additional storage tips directly from the CDC include freezing milk as soon as you know that you won’t use it within the first four days, to help protect the quality of the milk. It’s recommended to freeze breastmilk in small amounts to avoid defrosting too much milk at one time. It’s suggested to freeze in 2 to 4 ounce portions until you learn more about your baby’s needs.
A great product on the market is the Ceres Chill Milkstache. It has small ice cube trays with half ounce cubes, so you can freeze in perfect portions and put into a bottle to warm up as needed. When freezing milk in larger quantities, try leaving about an inch of space at the top of your container for freezing since milk expands as it freezes. When freezing milk in bags, there is a common misconception that air bubbles will cause gas in the baby, but that is not true! When the milk thaws, the bubbles do not remain!
If this is your first time defrosting frozen milk, you want to cycle through the oldest date of your frozen breastmilk first. Overtime, the quality will decrease in frozen milk, so make sure to use it before the expiration! It’s super important to remember you can never refreeze thawed breastmilk. Once it has been thawed completely, the milk must be used within 24 hours. Complete thaw is considered when the last ice crystal melts! When providing breastmilk to someone who is watching your baby, clearly label the container with the approximate time that the milk will expire by. If it’s stored in an insulated cooler with ice packs, it can stay about 24 hours at that temperature.
Never thaw or heat milk in the microwave as this can cause dangerous pockets of heat and burn the baby and destroy nutrients in the milk. A slow thaw is best, you can put it in the refrigerator overnight or set in a container of warm or lukewarm water. Always test the milk temperature before feeding it to the baby by putting a few drops on your wrist. Some babies like to drink their milk warm and some don’t mind it cold. Each baby has a different preference and it does not matter one way or the other for the sake of nutrition in the breastmilk or quality. Once breastmilk has been warmed or brought to room temperature, it should be used within two hours. My favorite method of warming bottles is actually using my Ceres Chill breastmilk chiller as a warmer. You can add warm water and secure the bottle from the lid as an excellent bottle warmer!
There is so much information to remember about properly handling and storing breastmilk, we want to make this easy for you! Save the below checklist of the most important details and use it as a reminder for everything you need to know when getting started with pumping breastmilk!
Need a hands-free pumping bra for your breast pump? Make sure to check out my favorite collection of modern bras and camis that fit all breast pumps!
You can do all the planning in the world to have the best start to a breastfeeding journey, but still have struggles. All 3 of my breastfeeding experiences started off rocky and needed to pump and nurse from the beginning. This is a huge reason why when buying a nursing bra, you should consider a bra that has the function to hold breast pump flanges in case you need to do both.
You really don’t need too many things to prepare for breastfeeding, but there are a few core ones that we recommend every mom has on hand when the baby is born. The most basic breastfeeding essentials start with a well fitting nursing and pumping bra, absorbent nursing pads, and a breastpump. In addition to those basic supplies, I also recommend a good nipple balm and a nursing pillow, such as the Boppy or my Breast friend.
Not everyone finds themself needing to pump, but it is very beneficial to keep at least a manual breast pump nearby. Even if you don’t plan to leave your baby, it’s common for them to sleep longer than you expect during growth spurts, and you could become uncomfortable. Anytime you need some relief between feedings, you can gently express a small amount of milk from each side for comfort and to prevent breast infections like Mastitis. If you have insurance, you typically can get a free or discounted electric breast pump with your plan in the United States. Some common recommendations are breast pump brands Spectra and Medela, and a lot of moms have success with them. We recommend taking advantage of that offer and getting a free breast pump even if you think you might not need it! I also suggest calling your insurance to ask what they cover before your birth!
Not all breastfeeding stories work out the same way. A lot of moms expect to nurse their baby at the breast, the most commonly recognized form of breastfeeding. But some babies end up having a difficult time latching and nursing at the breast doesn’t work out in the end. Another form of breastfeeding is called Exclusive Pumping. If you’re an exclusively pumping mom, you pump milk from your breasts with a breast pump and transfer it to a bottle to feed your baby. This allows both mom and dad (or even grandparents) to also share the feeding responsibilities. Yes, it is possible to do both nursing and pumping. Moms will rotate between nursing the baby and pumping milk for bottles, but it is important to keep nursing or pumping frequently no matter which method you decide on.
In the early days of breastfeeding you most likely will be leaking a lot of breastmilk. This is perfectly normal as your milk supply is being established and regulated. You may leak from the opposite side when nursing, or from both sides in between nursing or pumping. Breastmilk leaks can be a big frustration if you aren’t prepared, so having the right nursing pads for postpartum are essential. During the day you can also try to save that leaked milk and keep it on hand for bottles. I have found it very helpful to use a milk collector to catch the letdown on the side that my baby is not feeding on. This milk otherwise would have gone into a nursing pad and wasted! My favorite milk collectors are the Haakaa Silicone Pump, Lady Bug or Elvie Curve. You can keep fresh milk in the fridge for up to 4 days, or frozen for 6 to 12 months.
If you are new to breastfeeding, this information might already feel overwhelming to you! I get it, I was nervous too! I had no idea what I needed until I was already experiencing issues with my baby in my arms. One of my best recommendations is to encourage you to see a lactation professional for assistance now before your birth, and also immediately postpartum for support with latching or pumping!
After your baby is here, lactation consultants can work hands on with you and your baby to make sure they are transferring enough milk at each feeding. Most hospitals have a lactation consultant come in to visit you during your hospital stay, but keep in mind they are busy seeing lots of other moms at the same time. You won’t get enough support in just one or two short visits. Consider booking a private lactation consultation once you are back home. You can often get a private in-home visit, or a virtual appointment. I had a private lactation consultant each time with my kids and it was the best investment I made. Insurance might even cover your visit so it’s a no-brainer to book an appointment.

Wearing bras that are too tight while breastfeeding can lead to one problem after another. Not only is your body changing and adjusting to having your baby outside of the womb but your milk supply is still regulating too. Tight bras can lead to many issues like clogged milk ducts, mastitis, and general discomfort. Wearing a bra that’s too small can also affect milk supply. As a busty mom, the last thing you need is an ill-fitting bra making an already challenging time even harder. A great tip is to shop where you see models that look like your size. This takes away the guessing game of wondering what it will look like on you if the brand photographs on busty and plus size models. A bonus if they also use real moms!
The Amelia Tank is one of my top favorites for nursing and pumping busty moms. Designed specifically in busty sizing with a built-in pumping bra liner, it provides gentle support with the right amount of compression. When you’re pumping, the overlapping flange slits accommodate various flange sizes, and it still provides great coverage for your nipples when not pumping. This tank is nursing friendly too! The Amelia pumping and nursing tank is stylish enough to wear on its own or layered under your favorite outfits. And long enough to tuck into high waisted mom jeans! Truly style meets function with this one!

If you appreciate style and innovation, the Momcozy V2 might be the right choice for you. Hands down, this is the smallest breast pump motor I have ever seen. The stick shaped motor pairs with a set of silicone flange collection cups to make this a great pump for on the go. The milk storage capacity is between 6-7 ounces per side, making it easier for moms who produce more. The V2 is user-friendly and reported to be quieter than a sleeping baby. With 9 suction levels and 3 different modes, you can personalize your pumping experience. The V2 is a reliable option; super light, portable, and hands-free when wearing your favorite pumping bra!
Similar to the V2, the Momcozy V1 has the separate collection cups paired with an external motor. This small round breast pump is claimed to be hospital grade suction, even in its tiny portable shape. The collection cups are made with a silicone flange. Moms typically find a silicone flange to make for a much more comfortable pumping experience.
The Momcozy S12 Pro has a powerful motor with 9 suction levels designed for efficient milk expression. And despite its strong performance, it's also surprisingly quiet. This is a silicone collection cup style wearable pump that goes inside your pumping bra, hands free! The downside to this design is that the motor sits on top, making it a bit bulky when wearing even with your pumping bra. Milk storage capacity is recommended to hold 6 ounces on each side during a pump session, which is helpful for higher production moms.
The Momcozy S9 is compact, lightweight, and silent. As one of the first Mom Cozy wearable breast pumps, it's your go-to choice for a tried and true option. It includes 9 levels of suction, and it's user-friendly, ensuring you're in control of the suction level. Plus, one charge can last a whole day or about 9 pumping sessions! I also love the in your pumping bra design, although the motors do sit on top of the collection cup. This is still a fabulous breast pump option at an affordable price.
Once you've picked your perfect Momcozy pump, you need a bra that works best with it. In my experience, the Davin & Adley Amelia Pumping and Nursing Cami is the best choice for wearable breast pumps. Designed for modern moms, this cami doesn't just hold your pump securely; it adapts to your changing body. The pull-down access makes it super easy to use with wearable pumps and you have adjustable straps for securing the pump tight. Plus, it's stylish enough to be part of your everyday wardrobe, whether you're pumping or not. It comes in so many cute colors, there’s an Amelia Cami for every outfit you wear.
If you are more of a bralette mom looking for higher support, my 2nd favorite is the Riley Pumping and Nursing Bralette. Adjustable straps and band closure allow you to get the perfect fit for the mom cozy breast pumps. It's both gorgeous and practical for pumping moms!
If you’re new to pumping, you might be surprised to learn breast pump flanges come in multiple sizes! Why? One size does not fit all when it comes to nipples. Most breast pumps like Medela and Spectra come stock with flange sizes 24mm and 27mm or 28mm. Flanges sizes can actually range on average from 10mm - 32mm, which is quite the variation. Just like pumping bras, finding the correct size for your nipple is extremely important. The larger the flange size, the larger the tunnel shape will be as well. Pump companies include these larger sized flanges because where someone can use a flange that’s too large, someone cannot use a flange that’s too small. They go bigger to make it “work for everyone”.
Pro tip: You need to consider the size and shape of your flange when shopping for a hands-free pumping bra to hold your flanges. To find your ideal pumping flange size both while pregnant and again postpartum, you will want to use a speciality nipple ruler. My favorite flange sizing ruler is bemybreastfriend’s Nipple Ruler. This will fit perfectly into your hospital bag and come in handy throughout your breastfeeding journey, as your nipple size is very likely to change along the way. A mom with a size 10 mm nipple and flange may need a pumping bra with super small flange holes. A mom with a size 32 mm nipple and flange is going to need a pumping bra with large flange holes. Moms with a variation of flange size anywhere between may want to look for a pumping bra with adjustable flange opening. Size most certainly matters in this situation. If a bra with holes too large for a smaller flange is used, the flanges may not stay in place properly and not effectively remove milk. If a bra with smaller holes is used for larger flanges, it’s likely they won’t fit inside at all or may damage the bra.
If you find yourself with larger flanges like Pumpables Liquid Shield Kit or The Legendairy Milk Duette Fluidfit Kit, where the nipple sized silicone flange insert goes into a wider tunnel, expect to have some challenges fitting into small, circular opening pumping bras. Full silicone flanges like Lactek and Idaho Jones, are also more bulky and thick to maneuver. Silicone flanges that need to be flipped (both the Pumpin Pals and Bare Shields) will need a wider opening to allow access for flipping the flange onto the nipple. And any plastic flanges with additional silicone inserts or breast pump cushions like beaugen, could potentially be too cumbersome in some hands-free pumping bra openings. If this sounds anything at all like the breast pump flanges you have in your hand right now, the Davin & Adley Amelia Camis and Tanks are going to be your best choice. These hands-free pumping camis are 5-star rated and may very well be the best purchase you make during your breastfeeding journey. The Amelia camis and tanks are designed with overlapping flange slits instead of a pre-cut hole. This means the adjustable pumping slit opens up to the exact size you need when inserting the breast pump flange, and the overlap naturally closes during use to pinch the flange from both sizes. The top layer of the Amelia Pumping Cami or Tank is pulled down to rest on the top of your flanges. The design creates a 3 part system to lock your breast pump flanges into place, no matter the size or shape of them. Because it’s longer like a cami instead of a short bra, the coverage is also ideal to wear all the time. There is truly no other design like it on the market. You need one. Or 5. Period.
You could buy inexpensive pumping bras from Amazon, Target and Walmart, but it’s a gamble what you actually get. Quality, comfort and function are often compromised for a lower price. If you know you are in it for long term pumping, INVEST in both quality and functional pumping bras. Shop from smaller brands, run by women that are experienced in breastfeeding and have been very well reviewed by a large community of nursing and pumping moms!
Next, the Willow. I’ll call Willow the wild child of wearable pumps. Both the Willow Go and Willow 3.0 have an all-in-one design that allows them to sit right in your bra – no tubes or cords required. However, they do tend to have quite a bit of parts to clean. The shape is a bit larger and bulkier, so not necessarily the easiest to fit in just any bra. They may advertise that you can workout while pumping, but any pumping mom will tell you that is probably not the best idea.
Momcozy is another crowd favorite, providing affordable options without skimping on features. All of their wearable breast pump versions are surprisingly good at what they do, without the major price tag. Moms report loving the S12 Pro and M5! One of their top features are the use of silicone flanges instead of plastic flanges!
Lansinoh is a well established and trusted name in the breastfeeding world. They recently released their wearable pump at target. It may not be right for everyone because it is a bit loud, but it will get the job done, no frills attached. Another similar option is the Imani I2 pump from Legendairy Milk. These both also have silicone flanges, which can be more comfortable for some when pumping.
Wearable breast pumps might not be the all-in-one solution for everyone, especially if you're exclusively pumping. While they’re convenient, they aren’t always as efficient as they need to be due to the small rechargeable motors. They are however the perfect solution as a secondary pump when you’re on-the-go. They just won’t be your go-to workhorse breast pump.
Wearable pumps, by design, usually cannot match the suction power of their bulkier counterparts. If you're a powerhouse producer, you might find them a bit lacking. There also may be a learning curve to wearable pumps. Getting the perfect fit and ensuring a good seal in your hands-free pumping bra can take a bit of practice. It's like learning to ride a bike – wobbly at first, but once you get the hang of it, you're cruising. Wearable pumps also come with a not so fun price tag. While the freedom they offer is priceless, it's still an investment. Plus, they aren’t usually covered by insurance, so you’ll have to pay out of pocket.
Now, let's talk about everything that makes wearable pumps so popular. For one, they’re cordless and rechargeable. Imagine a world where you're not tethered to a wall outlet or fumbling with a million cords. Wearable pumps give you the freedom to pump wherever you need to. Wearable pumps also make going back to work less challenging. Slip them into your bra, and you can discreetly pump during meetings, brainstorming sessions, in your car, or even while conquering the world from your home office. Plus, with the right bra, there’s no problem switching between pumps or nursing. The Davin & Adley Amelia Cami is perfect for everyday wear, no matter how you’re pumping or feeding.
Whether you're chasing a toddler, braving the grocery store, or simply taking a stroll in the park, wearable pumps are perfect for busy moms. Slip them on, and you're free to handle whatever the day throws at you without compromising your pumping schedule. Wearable pumps are also compact and portable. No more lugging around a mini suitcase of pump parts. They can fit seamlessly into almost any bag.
Wearable breast pumps are also perfect for moms who are exclusively nursing or combo feeding. If you only pump on rare occasions, or when you’re out and about, you’ll love them. And Davin & Adley has the perfect bra for you too. The Ella bralette is made for nursing moms and it also holds wearable pumps beautifully! In my opinion, this is the ultimate combo-feeding pair!
If you plan to pump on the go, multitask, and extend breastfeeding for a few years, the answer is YES! In the journey of motherhood, your breast pump can be your trusty sidekick. Wearable breast pumps are revolutionizing the life of modern moms who don’t want to be tied down at home after having a baby. Pair them with the right bra and you’re set! Whether you're chasing deadlines, chasing dreams, or chasing after little ones, these pumps are here to make your life a little more manageable.
Embrace the freedom, enjoy the flexibility, and let wearable breast pumps be your sidekick in this incredible journey of motherhood.
So what about maternity bras? You know, those bras you buy to wear for 9 months only to shove them in the back of a drawer, never to be seen again? There is a solution and it’s a whole lot cuter than you think. The Davin & Adley Amelia Cami is the perfect option during pregnancy, nursing, pumping, and beyond! It’s a true game-changer in the maternity bra world.
This bra is not just a pumping bra or a nursing bra; it's both. It’s a 3-in-1 bra revolution. And it can be worn throughout pregnancy and even after you’re done nursing. Not to mention, it’s super cute and comes in tons of colors! It has a gorgeous lace back and the material is buttery soft. It’s my all-time favorite bra and it can even be layered as a regular cami.
Now, let's talk about those fussy nursing clips we both love and hate. Traditional nursing bras come with clips that, let's be honest, can sometimes be more frustrating than helpful, especially when you’re doing it one-handed. But not with Davin & Adley. The Amelia cami brings innovation to the table with easy sliders on the FRONT straps that let you adjust and pull down with ease. Davin & Adley has even gone a few steps further with the Ella bralette. Using magnetic clasps, you can easily latch and unlatch the cup for a seamless nursing session. No more fumbling in the dark during those midnight feeds – all of these bras are designed for simplicity and functionality.
Choosing between a pumping bra and a nursing bra can feel daunting, but the good news is: you don't have to choose. Whether you’re exclusively pumping, exclusively nursing, combo feeding, or figuring it out, the Davin & Adley Amelia Cami is everything you need. It's a pumping bra when you need it, a nursing bra when baby calls, and a maternity bra that is comfortable for every stage of pregnancy and postpartum.
Whether you're a first-time mom or a seasoned pro, one thing remains constant – comfort is queen. Pumping, nursing, or combo feeding, your bra should never feel fussy or complicated. It should adapt to your needs, not the other way around.
I know the lines between pumping bras and nursing bras are often blurred, and it can feel overwhelming. With the addition of Davin & Adley combo feeding bras and camis, we're entering a new era of bra sophistication. So, here's to the moms who are conquering the world, one feeding at a time. Your bra has your back – literally.
Happy pumping, nursing, and everything in between!
Changing your bra every time you need to pump is about as realistic as thinking you'll get a full night's sleep with a newborn. It's not happening. That is why I love Amelia Camis and Tanks so much. They seamlessly transition from everyday wear to pumping or nursing with zero effort. No more changing during the day or overnight. Why does this matter so much? Because time is precious, and as a mom, every minute counts. With a hands-free pumping bra, you can multitask like the superhero you are. Answer emails, clean the house, cook dinner, play with your little ones, or even indulge in a snack – all while pumping. It's not just a convenience; it's a sanity-saver.
Let’s face it – wrestling with regular clothes while nursing or pumping is not the holiday miracle we're hoping for. I have the perfect solution: MLM brand dresses. Stylish, comfortable, and designed with breastfeeding in mind, these dresses are a game-changer for holiday gatherings and beyond! Styled with the Davin & Adley maternity, nursing, and pumping bras, you've got a winning combo. The Davin & Adley collection offers support, style, and comfort. They’re also super versatile, so you can layer them under any outfit without compromising on style.
Tip: Consider investing in different styles of nursing or pumping bras for various occasions. From lacy bralettes to structured camis, having a variety of styles ensures you don’t have to limit your style to the bra you’re wearing.
Holiday parties and public gatherings can be overwhelming for little ones, and distractions are everywhere. I’m here to tell you that it’s okay to take a break. Escape to a quiet corner or a designated room where you can create a more familiar environment. Plus, it's not just for your baby's benefit; having a calm space for yourself while pumping can make a world of difference. Your environment and mindset have a huge impact on your pumping session. Try to find a place that you can get comfy and relax as much as you can before rejoining the festivities. Sometimes, all you need is a moment of tranquility amidst the holiday hustle.
Tip: Talk to your host in advance about your need for a quiet space. Most people understand and will be more than happy to accommodate.
Say bye-bye to the days of dragging around and being tethered to a loud, clunky pump. Wearable breast pumps and collection cups are some of my favorite additions to the breastfeeding and pumping world. They can discreetly fit into your bra, and allow you to pump on the go without missing a beat. Whether you're sipping cocoa or engaging in a lively game of charades, wearable pumps or collection cups will keep you from being tied to a wall outlet. Some of my favorite wearable pumps include: Elvie, Willow, Lansinoh, and Momcozy. I also love the Zomee and Legendairy Milk collection cups.
I can’t mention pumping on the go without talking about the Ceres Chill Milk Chiller. It does a fantastic job at keeping milk cold without having to use a refrigerator. It’s compact, efficient, and it's the perfect companion for a busy holiday outing where you don’t want to be putting your breastmilk in another family's refrigerator.
Tip: Remember to charge your wearable pump before heading out or during your car ride with a USB connector, so you don’t have to worry about cords and charging at your destination.
In the midst of holiday chaos, you can easily be thrown out of your routine. But here's the thing – babies thrive on routine. If sticking to your breastfeeding or pumping schedule is what feels right for you and baby, don't hesitate. It's okay to gracefully decline a party invitation, arrive late after a baby’s nap or sneak away for a quiet feeding session. Your breastfeeding journey is a priority, and a content, well-fed baby makes for a happier holiday for everyone.
Tip: Communicate your schedule to close family and friends, so they understand and can support your need for a little routine during the holiday madness.
This holiday season, don't let the demands of breastfeeding or pumping dampen your festive spirit. With a bit of planning and the right tools, you can navigate the holidays while giving your breastfed baby exactly what they need. From comfortable clothing to quiet corners and wearable pumps, these tips will help you jingle all the way through the season without frustration. Your breastfeeding or pumping journey is a celebration in itself. Cheers to happy and healthy holidays for you and your little one!

Your body will go through significant changes after giving birth. Comfortable postpartum clothing can make a world of difference in how you feel. Trust me, I know it’s so easy to go day after day in pajamas for the first few weeks. But once you put on some clothes that actually make you feel good, you’ll be so glad you did. Look for pieces like the Davin & Adley Amelia Cami and Mia Boxers as a base layer. They’re made with buttery soft fabric that feels amazing against your sensitive postpartum skin. Plus, they have the perfect amount of compression to accommodate you postpartum body, while supporting you in all the right places.
Another key to postpartum comfort is finding breathable and lightweight stretchy knits. The Momper Romper is one of my all-time favorites for postpartum. It can be layered over your favorite pumping and nursing bras, worn with your postpartum underwear and it’s super versatile!
Postpartum recovery hack: Choose clothing that's easy to put on and take off, especially if you're recovering from a cesarean delivery. You will be spending a lot of time in nursing and pumping camis, and postpartum shorts with elastic waistbands! If you select pieces that look like an outfit, you won’t have to peel off multiple items when it’s time to change.
Exercise is a huge part of having a positive postpartum experience. While you should avoid strenuous workouts during the early weeks of postpartum recovery, gentle exercises can aid in your healing process. Consult with your healthcare provider before starting any exercise routine, but once given the green light, consider activities like stroller walks, postpartum yoga or pelvic floor exercises. These can help improve circulation, strengthen your core, and alleviate discomfort. Not to mention clear your mind! It’s a lot of work caring for a new little baby.
Postpartum recovery hack: Once you’re cleared to start exercising, make sure you’re wearing supportive, yet comfortable workout clothing with easy access for nursing and pumping (trust me you will need it!) I love this ribbed pumping and nursing crop cami as my sports bra and Mia boxers as postpartum workout shorts! This outfit is something you can live in postpartum and be ready for a workout too.
Maintaining proper hydration and nutrition is crucial for postpartum recovery. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, especially if you're nursing or pumping. Focus on nutrient-rich foods like lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to aid in tissue repair and boost your energy levels. Warm broths are also incredible at healing your body from the inside. Consider meal prepping or asking for offers of home-cooked meals from loved ones to simplify your nutrition and minimize stress during this time.
Postpartum recovery hack: Prepare healthy, grab-and-go snacks to have on hand when breastfeeding hunger strikes. Most moms report eating more while breastfeeding than during pregnancy! Nuts, yogurt cups, fruit and pre-cut veggies are excellent choices. Keep them close by your bed, rocking chair, or pumping station for easy access all day long!
Postpartum recovery isn't just physical; it's emotional too. Many moms experience a range of emotions during this period, from joy to anxiety and sadness. It's crucial to reach out for emotional support when you need it. Talk openly with your partner, friends, or a therapist about your feelings. You're not alone in this journey, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. One of my favorite memories of postpartum was finding a local breastfeeding support group. We met weekly at a local community center to feed our babies together and talk about the new experiences we were all facing together. Those moms are still my friends 8 years later.
Postpartum recovery hack: Create a postpartum support network for yourself by joining local or online groups of new moms like Peanut. Sharing experiences and advice can be incredibly comforting. If you are an Instagram mom, the below are some of my favorite breastfeeding support accounts to follow.
Exclusive Pumping - @bemybreastfriend
Relatable mom life humor and pumping support- @mimiandpal
Breastfeeding encouragement and support (nursing and pumping)- @davinandadley
Lactation support - @az.breastfedbabies
Lactation support - @lactationchat
Co-sleeping for breastfeeding moms - @cosleepy
The postpartum period is a time of transformation, both physically and emotionally. Postpartum recovery is unique to each mom, so go at your own pace and be kind to yourself along the way. You're on one of life's most beautiful and challenging adventures, and you're doing an incredible job, Mama!
When it comes to sleep, comfort is non-negotiable. Postpartum skin is sensitive and easily irritated. You want to have something buttery soft against the skin with no irritating hooks or clips and most definitely no sharp edges. The fabric you select should be supportive without being restrictive. Any unnecessary pressure on the milk ducts could lead to breast infections such as Mastitis. It’s just not worth it. Get something comfortable and meant for mamas.
My top picks for comfort are hands down, The Davin & Adley Amelia Cami and Tanks. Both the modern crop cami and full length tank are designed with comfort in mind. Instead of your traditional nursing bra, these are a blend of bras/camis and offer a comfortable fit with light compression, without any uncomfortable edges. They’re basically a second-skin so your cami will make for an easy overnight pump or nursing session. Since there aren’t any wires or pesky clips, you’ll be ready to effortlessly feed and get back to sleep quickly (unless that cute little one has other plans). Plus, the comfy fabric gently hugs your body, ensuring you have one less thing to worry about throughout the night. I legit never want to take mine off.
Support is essential, even during sleep, but you do NOT want to deal with bulky bras that restrict movement and milk flow! Support doesn’t only come in the form of pads and wires. Bralettes and camis are the future of the bra world, especially for Maternity and Nursing. Support can be added with proper fit, quality elastics and elevated bra construction. Breast change in the first few weeks of postpartum is to be expected. A supportive yet unrestrictive bra is absolutely necessary. With just the right amount of support, bralettes and camis will ensure your breasts are gently cradled, reducing the risk of discomfort and help minimize breastmilk leaks.
I still highly recommend The Davin & Adley Amelia Cami and Tanks for the best wire free and non padded nursing and pumping bra option. You can also add a one-piece Paisley liner to add nipple coverage, control leaks, keep the sheets dry, and prevent your pads from moving around throughout the night.
When you're half-asleep, and attempting to navigate feeding or pumping without the bright lights, take no chances on spilling all your hard earned liquid gold. You need a quick and easy pumping bra setup that is not only fast, it’s SECURE! The Davin & Adley Amelia Camis and Tanks that we love so much have a 5-star rating for flange hold and security when pumping. And if you are worried about compatibility, the overlapping flange slits hold any type of flange you may have. I’ve personally used silicone flanges, hard plastic flanges, and even large mouth flanges like the Pumpables Liquid Shield kit. It works with everything. Blending comfort and functionality are your ultimate allies in this scenario and it’s 100% my go to.
So you pump during the day, but what if you don’t pump overnight? Some moms choose to nurse instead. This would be described as combo feeding. Any variation of nursing and pumping at different times in the day is a way to combo feed your baby. No mom wants to be changing from a nursing bra to a pumping only bra at different times of the day. That is a thing of the past! Do yourself a favor mama and get yourself a combo nursing and pumping bra. The Davin & Adley Amelia Camis and Tanks have front strap sliders, allowing you to switch from pumping just before bed to nursing overnight without changing your bra at all. Say goodbye to fumbling with clips or hooks and hello to stress-free sessions that let you get back to sleep faster than ever.
When it comes to finding the perfect pumping bra to sleep in, the blend of comfort, support, and convenience are a must-have for both new moms and experienced ones like myself. No more compromising on sleep quality or struggling through middle-of-the-night pumping sessions. With the right bras, you can get a comfortable night's sleep while seamlessly navigating your breastfeeding journey, even in the wee hours of the morning. If you've been on the lookout for pumping bras or nursing bras that provide optimal support, comfort, and easy access for middle-of-the-night feeds or pump sessions, look no further. Check out my #1 recommendation, the Amelia Cami and Tank by Davin and Adley. You won’t be sorry!

When you're a working mom, versatility is the name of the game. I have many bras in my collection with a range of options that cater to every outfit you might wear to the office. Whether it's a tailored blazer, a chic blouse, or even a uniform, you can trust that there's a suitable bra in the collection. The assortment is designed to seamlessly integrate into your professional attire, ensuring you look and feel your best while juggling your new role of a working breastfeeding mom.
Layering is a working mom's secret weapon to effortlessly transition from the office to a meeting and on to a quick pumping session. The Amelia Camis are your go-to layering companions. These camis provide a perfect fit under blazers, cardigans, or any other outerwear. The camis offer both support and comfort, allowing you to stay focused on your tasks without worrying about discomfort. Gone are the days of fidgeting with your nursing pads throughout the day! The Paisley Nursing Pads feature a one-piece design that ensures they stay securely in place within your nursing bra or cami. Unlike traditional two-piece pads that may move around, causing discomfort and potential leakage, these pads stay put no matter how active your day may be. You’ll have one less thing to worry about when chasing after a toddler or heading to a meeting at work.
Dealing with heavy leakage can be both frustrating and embarrassing. The Paisley Nursing Pads have you covered (Pun definitely intended). Their super absorbent core can handle a substantial amount of milk, keeping you dry and comfortable all day long. Say goodbye to those awkward moments of leaking through your clothing and leave those spare clothes in the car for when you really need them.
Comfort is essential during any postpartum journey, and I understand that perfectly. With three different sizes available, the Paisley nursing pads provide a customizable fit that ensures maximum comfort and support. No more dealing with too small or too large pads that cause discomfort and irritation. The soft, breathable material embraces your body gently, making these nursing pads feel like a second skin. As a busy mom, I appreciate how the customizable fit eliminates the worry of constantly adjusting my nursing pads, allowing me to focus on what truly matters – bonding with my little one. Plus, they literally fit into any bra, including bras like the Amelia Cami that don’t have any cup separation.
The Paisley Nursing Pads are completely reusable and eco-friendly. Reduce waste and save money with these innovative nursing pads. They’re incredibly easy to clean, and they’re durable enough to withstand frequent washings without losing their shape or effectiveness. It's a win-win for both the environment and your budget!
In my journey as a breastfeeding mom, I've tried so many nursing pads. I never found any that checked all the boxes so I had to create the Paisley Nursing Pads. From the one-piece design, and customizable fit, to their supreme absorbency and cost-effective nature, they’re a must-have.

]]>I am always trying different pumps in an attempt to find the perfect one. When I heard about the Momcozy M5 Wearable Breast Pump, I was really intrigued. I want to share my firsthand experience with this innovative breast pump and help you decide if it's worth the investment. Additionally, I'll compare the Momcozy M5 to other popular wearable breast pumps like the Willow Pump, WillowGo Pump, and Elvie since I have used them all during my 3 breastfeeding journeys.
When it comes to convenience and design, the Momcozy M5 ticks a ton of boxes. Its compact size and discreet size allow any mom to pump hands-free and have the freedom to multitask and care for your little ones simultaneously. The pump's silicone flanges offer a comfortable fit and a secure outer seal, preventing any leakage and ensuring a smooth pumping experience. One feature of the M5 that caught my eye was the noise reduction technology which is supposed to make it whisper-quiet. While it is quieter than some traditional pumps, I found it to still be a little noisy compared to the WillowGo and the Elvie.
The Momcozy and Willow 3.0 both offer hands-free pumping, but the Momcozy M5 takes the lead when it comes to a more budget-friendly price tag. Both pumps provide portability and convenience, but the Momcozy M5's silicone flanges are much more comfortable for some than the hard plastic on the Willow.
The WillowGo Pump is an updated version of the Willow 3.0 Pump, but it still comes with a higher price tag over $349 that not all moms are willing to pay. In contrast, the Momcozy M5 offers comparable portability and convenience at a lower cost of around $199 USD for the double pump, making it an excellent investment for moms looking to save without compromising on quality.
The Elvie Pump is a strong competitor with impressive performance and features, and I really do love mine. It retails for $550, making it one of the highest on the market. However, the Momcozy M5 just crushes the competition with its competitive price point and “baby mouth” technology.
As any pumping mom knows, finding the best bra is essential to your breastfeeding success. The Davin & Adley Ella Bralette and Amelia Cropped Cami are fantastic options for moms using the Momcozy M5. It offers a perfect balance of comfort, support, and style.
The Ella Nursing and Pumping Bralette is designed to work in harmony with almost any pump and is exceptionally good with wearable pumps. It provides a secure and hands-free pumping experience on the move. All of the Davin & Adley bras like the Amelia Cami, and Riley Pumping Bralette are compatible with other breast pumps, making it easy to switch from on-the-go to at-home pumping without changing your bra!
If you’re looking for a great wearable pump while on a budget, the Momcozy M5 Wearable Breast Pump is absolutely worth the investment. Its affordability, discreet size, and flange comfort set it apart from its competitors. Not to mention you get all the extras inside the included carrying case. A steal for the price point.
As a busy mom, having the right breast pump can significantly impact your pumping or nursing journey. The Momcozy M5 could very well become the ultimate pumping companion for you! It provides the freedom to pump discreetly and efficiently wherever you are. With the Davin & Adley nursing bras supporting the Momcozy M5, it’s an empowering combo that will make an impact on your motherhood journey!
]]>So why does World Breastfeeding Week matter to moms all around the world?
World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) was started in 1992, by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA). This annual event, celebrated from August 1st to August 7th focuses on a different theme each year. This year, the theme is all about enabling breastfeeding and making breastfeeding easier on working parents, and I absolutely love that!
WBW serves as a platform to educate both new and experienced moms about the numerous benefits of breastfeeding. By understanding the science behind breastfeeding, from colostrum's immunity-boosting properties to the perfect blend of nutrients in breast milk, moms can make informed choices for their little ones.
World Breastfeeding Week highlights the health advantages of breastfeeding. For babies, it reduces the risk of infections, obesity, and certain chronic diseases later in life while simultaneously easing postpartum recovery, lowering the risk of postpartum depression and certain cancers for Mama.
Breastfeeding may be natural, but it doesn't always come easily. As a 3rd time breastfeeding mama with 3 very different experiences, I can attest to that! There can be so many challenges that come with breastfeeding. From latch issues, to sore nipples, low milk supply to clogged ducts, being a lactating mom is really hard! Seeking support from lactation consultants, support groups, or online communities filled with other breastfeeding moms, can make a world of difference on this journey.
Another difficulty that so many moms face is nursing or pumping in public. The freedom to feed our babies in public is crucial for long term breastfeeding. While society has made progress in accepting public breastfeeding, some moms still feel uncomfortable and face criticism for doing it. This can be even harder for parents who choose to pump and can’t find a private place to set up. World Breastfeeding Week aims to embrace and normalize breastfeeding in all settings and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for mothers everywhere.
And that’s where Davin & Adley comes in! We specifically make an entire collection of nursing and pumping bras for breastfeeding moms to easily pump or nurse on the go, and feel confident while doing it! I hear from countless moms who have said their Davin & Adley bras have made a huge difference while out in public, in the work place and even at home. The Amelia cami is a game changer when it comes to quick and easy access to nurse and pump without fussing with clips and the Ella Bralette is amazing for extra coverage while nursing and quick release magnetic clasps. And let’s not forget, it’s STUNNING!
Throughout the years, I’ve found a few fun ways to bring more awareness to World Breastfeeding Week. One of my favorites is social media challenges. Share your breastfeeding journey, tips, or a heartwarming story using hashtags #WBW2023 and #howdoyoubreastfeed. The support from social media is amazing.
World Breastfeeding Week is also the perfect time to treat yourself! You’ve been working hard and you deserve something special too. I recently treated myself to a breastmilk necklace from Mamma’s Liquid Love to celebrate 2 years of breastfeeding my 3rd baby and I could not be happier with my new bling! Really gorgeous pieces. If you haven’t shopped for new nursing and pumping bras for yourself recently, it’s a perfect time to get yourself my all time favorite, Amelia cami or Ella Bralette and be proud of all that you do to achieve those breastfeeding goals!
During World Breastfeeding Week this year, let's acknowledge the strength and dedication it takes to breastfeed, pump, combo-feed, and nourish our little ones no matter what that looks like in your home. Whether you're a new mom or a seasoned pro, remember that you're not alone on this journey. This week is about coming together, sharing our experiences, and supporting one another through the incredible adventure of motherhood. Embrace the magic of the breastfeeding bond, and let your love nourish your little one like no other force can. Happy World Breastfeeding Week, amazing Mama! You've got this! 💕🤱
It's time to pack up those winter coats and get ready for summer weather! If you're a breastfeeding mom, there is one item that should definitely make it into your wardrobe this year. Read on to learn more about the best pumping crop top that you can wear all summer long!

Whether you exclusively nurse, exclusively pump, or do a little bit of both, your wardrobe as a breastfeeding mom will look a little different from everyone else's. The Amelia Pumping and Nursing Cami is the solution, no matter what your journey looks like!
No need to deal with annoying clips, simply pull down to nurse your baby. For pumping moms, this pumping crop top has a top layer to pull up and crossover openings to keep your flanges in place.
But what makes this nursing and pumping crop top ideal for summer? It's made with a lightweight material to keep you cool all summer long!
If you're anything like me, spending time at the pool is a constant occurrence during the summer. But as a breastfeeding mom, it can be hard (or nearly impossible) to find a swimsuit that makes you feel good, is stylish, and allows you to nurse or pump with ease!
That's where the Amelia Swim Top comes in! Our line of swim tops comes in 5 different colors and designs that you can easily mix and match with your favorite pair of swim bottoms. You can have a different look every time you head to the pool!
Just like our original Amelia, the swim top takes all of the breastfeeding features and gives you a top you can wear at the pool, beach, while working out, or layered for a night out. This truly is a pumping crop top you can wear day or night!
Of course, you need something comfortable to sleep in as well. This is the best nighttime pumping bra for those overnight sessions! Because of its lightweight fabric and design, you can sleep comfortably all night long. And if you're someone who tends to leak at night, our Paisley bra liner goes perfectly with the Amelia!
This pumping bra for night sessions is exactly what you need for those warm summer nights!
If you're looking for a plus size pumping bra this summer, the Busty Amelia is exactly what you need!
This plus size bra allows breastfeeding moms to find the perfect fit. It comes in sizes up to 2X! Although this is a tank style rather than a pumping crop top, it's made with the same lightweight fabric that makes it a must-have this summer!
Those hot summer months are quickly approaching! Make sure you are ready to tackle breastfeeding on the go, at the beach, or during your night out this summer by grabbing your favorite Amelia pumping crop top! Which style will you choose?

Summer is finally here! But before you jump in the car and head straight to the beach, there are a few vacation essentials you should have for you and your baby. Check out our list of items to pack up before your next beach vacation!
]]>One of the top vacation essentials for your list is getting a portable baby tent! These are the perfect way to keep your baby shaded and can help keep sand out of the way while they play. There are so many great options on the market right now! One of the most popular is California Beach Co. Not only is it a great option that keeps sand and sun out, but their Pop n’ Go tent is also insanely easy to set up!
As a pumping mom, you know how important it is to keep your breastmilk cool on the go! That’s why having a quality cooling cup is definitely on the list of vacation essentials this summer. My two favorites are the Junobie Warming and Cooling Cup (because it can both chill and warm up breast milk on the go!) and the Ceres Chill Cup (a compact, stainless-steel travel option!).
Another one of my vacation essentials for new moms is a baby wagon. I love the Baby Trend Stroller Wagons because they make moving around with a baby (and all of your other essentials) so much easier! Plus, it doubles as a great on-the-go nap spot for your little one!
The last thing you want to worry about on your vacation is being stuck in one place holding your pump while everyone is out having fun! That’s why the cordless and rechargeable Pumpables pump is essential for your travels this summer. Plus, to make it hands-free, you can pair it with the Legendairy Milk Collection Cups!
You’ll also need something to carry all of your pump supplies and other vacation essentials in! I would definitely check out Mimi and Pal’s Radley Backpack. It comes in three different colors and has a section for your pump and to keep breastmilk cool, an upper section for all of your extra needs, and pockets to store your Junobie or Ceres Chill Breastmilk cup!
The worst way to end a vacation is with a bad sunburn! But with all of the bad reviews out there for sunscreens, it can be hard to find a good fit. That’s why I personally love Blue Lizard Australian sunscreen. It’s the most natural option I’ve found available, so you can feel good using it while also protecting your skin!
Although this might not be specifically for your baby, having a comfortable pumping and nursing bra for your vacation is definitely a need! That’s why Davin and Adley has so many great options to choose from, including our new Swim Collection! The Amelia Pumping and Swim Bra comes in five different colors and patterns so you can mix and match with your favorite bottoms for your entire vacation!
And when you’re not relaxing at the beach, you should also have the best pumping bra for sleep as well! The Amelia Cami is incredibly comfortable so you can get some much-needed rest after a whole day under the sun. You can also grab a pair of our Mia Boxer Shorts to complete your sleepwear for pumping moms and relax in comfort!
And if you’re looking for a plus size pumping bra, you’re in luck! The Amelia also has a busty option that is just as comfortable as the original!
The best way to enjoy your vacation is to be prepared with all of the essentials! What else would you add to this list?

As a new mom, the first few days (or weeks) are filled with newborn snuggles… And also plenty of trips to the bathroom! The last thing you want to worry about is your postpartum pad getting scrunched up, moving out of place, or simply the discomfort of living in a diaper like your newborn. If this sounds familiar (or like something you want to avoid), read on to learn more about the best postpartum underwear to wear after your vaginal delivery!
]]>We recently talked about why the new Mia boxer short is perfect for moms who have a c-section… Its high-waisted style to protect your scar from irritation is just one of the many reasons why it’s essential.
However, planning for recovery after vaginal delivery is slightly different. The biggest difference is the need to keep huge postpartum pads and “padsicles” in place! The mesh postpartum underwear you typically get from the hospital is thin, way too stretchy, and tends to scrunch up when you move around… Honestly, it wasn’t made to be worn long-term!
That’s where the Mia Boxer Short comes in. This postpartum underwear option is not only better than the basic mesh underwear you get after birth, but it knocks all of the normal underwear options out, too! It features an extra-wide crotch gusset lined in cotton that will give you complete coverage. On top of that, these shorts were designed not to roll up and keep everything exactly where you want it to be during your recovery!
And if you had to get stitches after your delivery, the boxer shorts are still a great option! Typical underwear could put too much pressure on these sensitive areas after birth… But the boxer style of our new postpartum underwear allows you to heal comfortably.
Not only is this the best recovery option for a c-section or vaginal delivery, but the Mia Boxer Short can also be used long before or after you give birth!
The same waistband that provides comfortable tummy compression after delivery is also stretchy enough to go around your belly during pregnancy.
These are not your “typical” underwear… in fact, you could comfortably wear them around the house by themselves! The shorts are not see-through at all, so you could easily wear them as shorts during your recovery and beyond. Or, simply layer them under some comfy lounge pants so you can relax comfortably after your new baby arrives.
Lastly, this postpartum underwear option is different from the period underwear you may have used before. Unlike period underwear, the Mia Boxer Short is not self-absorbing… which means those huge maternity pads are still necessary. But don’t worry… the compression will keep them in place! This was done so you don’t have to worry about absorbent underwear causing infection after you give birth. Every aspect of these shorts was designed to ensure that you can have the most comfortable recovery period possible!
If you have a new little one on the way, you’ll want to grab a pair (or a few) of the new Mia Boxer Short. Not only will this help make your vaginal delivery recovery a smooth one, but the shorts can be worn long after your little one arrives.
